Kurze Geschichte der italienischen Migration in der Schweiz

During the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Switzerland was the most international team based on the players' countries of origin. Just a few months earlier, the Swiss People's Party initiative "Against Mass Immigration" was accepted. This book explores the history of Italian migration to Switzerland, attempting to connect seemingly contradictory dynamics. In the last century, Switzerland had the highest proportion of foreigners in Europe. After World War II, it welcomed nearly half of all migrants from Italy. At the same time, Switzerland was also the first country in the world to implement extensive legislation to regulate immigration. The history of Italian migration to Switzerland illustrates how closely the fate of Switzerland is intertwined with that of these migrants.
