How quickly time flies. I remember when a young graduate from the officer school in Szczytno entered my room at headquarters. Yes, it was Janek Żbik. He quickly became known as an outstanding investigator and intelligence agent. His involvement in cases served as a model for the slightly younger staff: Lieutenant Ola, Marzena, and Lieutenant Michał. Captain Mirski from the security service spoke highly of Żbik. In Puławska, the headquarters received numerous congratulatory letters from the district administration, the railway protection service, the state forests, members of ORMO, the party, and scouts. Then, at the graduation ceremony in the Filmoteka, I met the writer Władysław Krupiński and the Director of Sports and Tourism, Mr. Alfred Górny. Krupiński had the idea of introducing young people to the difficult and responsible work of the MO. I recommended Żbik as a hero, who initially resisted and said that it was the entire collective that solved the tasks, not just him. And so, 50 years ago, the first "Color Notebook" was printed. A total of 53 editions were published in over 11 million copies. Every militiaman was proud. I just read the work "A Personal Folder Dedicated to Żbik." Colleague Chosiński examined dozens of "Color Notebooks," read many books, watched many films, visited libraries, and searched through paper and computer archives. I must commend his work. Chosiński would make a good analyst or intelligence agent. There is just a small inaccuracy regarding the depository bank. Well, Janek's wife on her ID card bears the first name Danuta. However, she doesn't particularly like it. Therefore, she uses her second name, Krystyna, daily. In return, the name of the place where she was the manager was slightly corrected by the commission for determining place names.
