Drawing on Mrs. Maxine Hong Kingston's stages of cultural identity crisis, this manuscript, created as part of a master's thesis, addresses the cultural causes behind the subordinate identity of Chinese-American immigrants and the defect of their in-between identity in Kingston's memoir "The Woman Warrior.".
