The approach of intercultural personnel and management development has long become an essential discipline in economic theory for sustainable existence in the internationalized global market. However, in practice, it becomes evident that the cultural diversity of business partners in multicultural corporate mergers, and conversely the establishment of intercultural personnel and management development measures, is still significantly neglected or underestimated. Approximately half of all multinational corporate mergers have failed due to the barrier of cultural differences. An explanation for this oversight can be found in both ignorance and the ethnocentric perspective of the home office management. This book aims to counteract these counterproductive mindsets through targeted awareness-raising and by illustrating understanding processes.
