This book provides an introduction to AI. It demonstrates how symbol-processing AI is applied today in the form of knowledge networks or business rules, and how artificial neural networks can be used in pattern recognition or data mining.

Knowledge representation and processing based on logic is introduced using the logical programming language Prolog. Logical conclusions can be implemented in Prolog much more easily than in Python or Java. The concepts of neural networks are practically deepened with the JavaNNS system and through Python.
