ERP is an enterprise-wide system for resources, information, and activities needed to carry out business processes such as order fulfillment or invoicing. ERP systems can cover a wide range of functions and integrate them into a unified database. ERP forecasts and balances supply and demand. It is an enterprise-wide set of forecasting, planning, and scheduling tools. A successful ERP implementation does not necessarily lead to post-implementation success of the ERP system.
