Product details
Dr. med. Frank Köhnlein, born in 1967 in Stuttgart, is a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy and has been running his own practice since 2018. After studying medicine in Tübingen, he worked for several years in adult psychiatry and psychotherapy at Lake Constance and in Switzerland. Since 2002, he has lived with his family in Basel, where he served as a senior physician at the University Hospital for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for 16 years. His areas of focus include child protection, self-harm behavior, humor in psychotherapy, and provocative therapy as developed by Frank Farrelly. In addition to his work in private practice, Köhnlein serves as a university lecturer, supervisor, and expert consultant for authorities, and supports mental health prevention projects. He gives lectures and publishes professional articles on various topics in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. Köhnlein's novels "Vollopfer" (2013) and "Kreisverkehr" (2015), which reflect his work as a child and adolescent psychiatrist, achieved notable sales figures in Switzerland and received widespread media attention. In 2022, both titles were released in a revised and expanded edition along with his latest novel "Krankmachen" by Starks-Sture Verlag in Germany. In an interview, Köhnlein explains: "Nothing I write is invented. Certainly not exaggerated. You can't make up such bizarre things as those that happen in reality.".
