Korankommentare und -übersetzungen in den Sprachen Arwi und Tamil

The Quran is a collection of verses that Allah revealed to His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) at various times and in different contexts in the Arabic language. The commentaries and translations of the Holy Quran are the religious domain that Tamil scholars have engaged with. They had a religious consciousness while interpreting the Holy Quran. The Arwi Tafseers served as authentic interpretations of the Quran, and the Mufassirs followed the correct methodology and gained accurate knowledge in the language of the Quran. The Tamil Tafseers were written with reference to the Arwi Tafseers. The Arwi Tafseers referred to the commentary on the commentaries of al-Baidawi and al-Durr al-Manthoor. Shaik Sadaqathulla Appa (1632-1703) from Tamil Nadu wrote commentaries on the Tafseer of al-Baidawi and al-Durr al-Manthoor, which served as a model for the Arwi commentaries. This work can be used worldwide to learn about Quranic commentaries and translations in Arwi and Tamil languages. It is also a contribution to Indian heritage.
