Koordinierung der regionalen Tourismuspolitik mit Auswirkungen auf die Entwicklung des Ökotourismus

Regional cooperation in tourism can promote destinations and travel corridors with complementary locations. However, the low regional coordination of tourism policy in competitive travel destinations leads to political and economic conflicts between partner states. As a result, such conflicts undermine the development of ecotourism in shared ecosystems like the Serengeti-Mara. The regional tourism policy of the EAC is unable to facilitate political coordination in the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, which results in the ecosystem being subjected to a statistical tourism policy that promotes political and economic competition. The overall aim of this study was to examine the impact of regional tourism policy coordination on the development of ecotourism in the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem within the framework of EAC integration. The specific objectives included investigating the nature and extent of regional tourism policy coordination that affects the development of ecotourism in the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem.
