Product details
Cardiovascular diseases account for one in every two deaths and remain the leading cause of death in Germany. Continuous telemedical monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is essential for the prevention, inpatient monitoring, and follow-up care of patients. Currently, there are various systems on the market that measure blood pressure either discontinuously and non-invasively or continuously and invasively. The following work demonstrates how blood pressure can be calculated continuously and non-invasively from pulse wave transit time. The data transmission is based on ZigBee according to the IEEE standard to achieve the lowest possible energy consumption. The conduct of a study involving participants shows at the end of the work the relationship between discontinuous and continuous blood pressure.
