Wolf Dieter Wichmann began practicing karate in Bad Godesberg in 1966. In the 1970s, he was the captain of the German national karate team. Since 1977, he has been teaching karate in Bremen. Wolf-Dieter Wichmann has held numerous positions at the national level and within the Bremen Karate Association. He has passed Dan examinations with Japanese instructors Kanazawa, Ochi, Nakayama, and Kase, among others. By founding the Fudoshin-Ryu style within the German Karate Association, he established his understanding of traditional Shotokan karate. He is the author of several karate specialist books. In 2016, he was awarded the 9th Dan by the German Karate Association.
