In the past, most breech births were delivered vaginally, but nowadays they are mostly performed via cesarean section. The reasons for this shift include changing societal attitudes, doctors' fears of malpractice claims, increased financial costs, and insufficient training of birth attendants. Nevertheless, many pregnant women with breech presentations desire a vaginal birth, and this demand can be met with a competence center for breech births. The practical requirements for the efficient establishment of such a center include a dedicated obstetric specialist and an existing maternity clinic. This book compiles a toolbox from which the specialist can select useful tools for setting up a competence center. The tools range from a prediction calculator for birth numbers and profits, risk management for delivery, flowcharts for the delivery room, simulation exercises for training, to a timeline of imaging techniques for breech births.
