Living together with socially conspicuous children puts a lot of strain on their parents: Homework becomes a torture, parental instructions fall on deaf ears, etc. The mood in the families deteriorates and the relationship becomes strained. This training is based on a stress and resource theory approach. According to this approach, parental parenting difficulties do not arise from a general inability to cope, but from overload and unused behavioural opportunities. Parents are guided on how to better guide their "difficult child". They learn to see their own strengths, to give precise instructions, to guide the child through praise and reprimand and to have the homework done according to a given plan. Finally, they are advised on how the family can come together in a new and better way.
