Professional standards in teacher education are widely discussed. However, professional standards for continuing education have hardly been a topic until now. While standards are established to conduct external evaluations for ensuring school quality, they are often too general, lacking specificity and clarity. The first part of the book addresses the question of what defines good school quality and how it can be ensured through standards. It also discusses how competency grids can be used to formulate professional standards concretely and precisely, serving as a reference framework for training and further education. The second part presents a carefully prepared project plan that facilitates the successful implementation of competency grids.
