For hours, the good fairy tells the mouse her stories. But then a cat knocks at the door. "Oh, I like you," says the good fairy. "Come right in!" The mouse flees under the dresser and listens from afar. How can the good fairy do this to her? But soon a dog joins in as well... Only when the good fairy conjures up a feast on the table and sets a place for the mouse does she dare to come out. And then the fairy tells the story of a tiny mouse who, when she is sad, knows no other way to help herself than to gnaw at the foot of a dresser.
