Product details

The advancing industrialization of software development and the collaborative, i.e., division of labor and distributed, creation of enterprise software have been discussed in research and practice for some time now. What has been lacking so far is a systematic compilation of existing approaches and the derivation of a corresponding reference process for the collaborative creation of enterprise software.

This is developed in the present work concerning specific development methodologies, existing reuse techniques, and initial approaches to collaborative development from the open-source environment and other analogous engineering disciplines. The reference process thus developed defines both organizational conditions and roles as well as a comprehensive process architecture and concrete technical implementation proposals.

Furthermore, the domain-specific adaptability of the reference process is demonstrated using a financial services scenario and is critically assessed and evaluated at the end.
