Product details
Minimized as a means to become more creative and productive, cocaine has found a dangerous acceptance across all social classes in Europe. It is mostly consumed as a powder in party scenes, offices, or even construction sites, completely overlooking how dangerous it is. What often starts out of curiosity or as a fun experience frequently leads to a fatal addiction. One lively evening, a 22-year-old man tries cocaine for the first time with his friends and soon finds himself trapped in the vicious cycle of this destructive drug. The change happens rapidly: the intelligent, ambitious, and talented young student becomes a desperate individual with a severe addiction. And although he tries everything to overcome his addiction, the craving for the substance is stronger. His parents supported their son through three years of addiction and assisted him in his attempts to quit, which ultimately fail. This journey is vividly described by his mother, Marina Jung. Since there is far too little knowledge about the drug and its effects in public and even in certain professional circles, she has documented her experiences. In doing so, she combines facts and insights to create a multi-perspective viewpoint. This allows readers to understand why cocaine is particularly unpredictable and dangerous, and what an addiction does to the affected person and their social environment. Ultimately, the author takes readers into the reality of people struggling with addiction, including texts and case studies from those affected.
