This is particularly critical when smoke enters stairwells, potentially obstructing escape routes and putting more people at risk. Fire tests and fire simulation calculations have demonstrated that the installation of mobile smoke barriers can significantly reduce this danger—without needing to change the fundamental tactics of fire departments.
