Franziska Wittmann researches at the Chair of Gion A. Caminada on how to engage with physical laws and physiological aspects in architecture. In 2017, the book "Achievements of Architecture" was published. The aim of this work was to demonstrate a meaningful interaction with forms and materials. This knowledge not only contributes to the energy issue but also offers the possibility to enrich architecture as a whole with qualities. The book "Bodies in Spaces" builds on this point. Here, the focus is not on the generation of physical constellations through architecture, but rather on the impact of these states on humans. The publication presents collected physiological effects in a way that they can be effectively applied to create a richer architecture. The collection showcases physiological phenomena, architectural correspondences, and examples from architectural history.
