Back cover text
Practical knowledge for beekeepers: Completely revised, updated, and expanded, the standard work on queen breeding is now available in a new edition. Queen breeding is one of the most important aspects of successful beekeeping. Every beekeeper should understand the relationship between queen breeding and a good honey harvest. Young queens build strong colonies and reduce the risk of swarming. However, many beekeepers find queen breeding too complicated. This book aims to provide the necessary knowledge about the fundamentals and practical implementation. The authors: Gilles Fert lives in Argagnon, at the foot of the French Pyrenees. He runs his beekeeping business full-time as a successful beekeeper and bee breeder, and his name is well-known beyond the borders of France. Today, he is invited worldwide to give lectures, workshops, seminars, and to serve as a consultant. Klaus Nowottnick is a gifted beekeeper and has already published "Diseases and Pests of the Bee," "Propolis," and "Making and Pouring Candles" with Leopold Stocker Verlag.
