We love vegetables! "The main thing is vegetables!" has been the motto of the two popular WDR television chefs Martina and Moritz for decades. Vegetables have always played the leading role in their kitchen. For this book, they have compiled their favorite recipes centered around vegetables, organized from January to December, the months when they taste best and are also the most affordable. The authors focus on sourcing from the region and following the seasons, but they do not want to limit themselves to the winter cabbage and root recipes of the past; instead, they want to take advantage of the wonderful selection of young Mediterranean vegetables and also what is produced in greenhouses and tunnels both locally and in neighboring countries. They provide a brief overview of where each vegetable of good quality from responsible cultivation reaches our markets. Martina and Moritz have looked into many kitchens around the world for their recipes, drawing inspiration from Mediterranean and Asian cooking methods, and they demonstrate in this book, as always, that good cooking means: everything is easy and digestible, varied and healthy, and simply tastes great.
