Psychology as a science is located in the contradictory field of knowledge of domination and liberation. The conceptual presuppositions in the dominant psychological theories and their action-oriented approaches aim to describe subjects without their embeddedness in social relations. Critical psychology, on the other hand, puts forward a concept at both the categorical and the practical level that thinks individual liberation as one with the transformation of social conditions. This double issue concludes the series texte kritische psychologie. The volume "Theories and Concepts" presents mainstream psychological theories and the critique of them as well as the basic assumptions of critical psychology. Practice-oriented approaches to psychology and critical-psychological alternatives to them are described in the volume "Schools and Practices".
