Nico Rawencke, 28, absconded in a foreign city to start a new life. He has one thing in common with Eddy, the city's experienced cultural life man, Floyd, an addictive one-off, and the enchanting Dani - they spend their time in the cultural café `Klabautermann`, their freaky parallel world. But suddenly something sinister disturbs his secluded life under the radar. Nico receives anonymous, unstamped letters that gradually confront him with his past. Someone is after him! When mysterious people turn up who look devilishly like long-dead music icons like Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Lemmy Kilmister and Dee Dee Ramone, and an unusual spy shop is opened on top of that, chaos inexorably takes its course. Little by little, things escalate in the wintry city. It all comes down to an inevitable showdown - or is it just that everyone in the Klabauterman's haze is slowly losing their minds? Life has its very own laws, nothing is forgotten and sometimes causes sleepless nights.
