In October 2021, an online conference (ketamin-kongress.de) was held, which was very well received by the doctors and psychotherapists who attended. It was about the accompanying use of ketamine in psychotherapeutic processes, or vice versa: about accompanying the use of ketamine in psychotherapeutic treatment. Ketamine as a legalised substance is also an example of the possibilities that the use of psychoactive substances such as psilocybin could offer.

Experienced international experts give an insight into their practice and the amazing possibilities, especially when accompanied by hypnosis, and they also discuss the risks that need to be considered. Firstly, Fritz B. Simon takes a look at this development from a decidedly systems-theoretical perspective. Why is it so important to distinguish between the psyche, organism and communication systems if we want to understand the effects of psychoactive substances and ensure good professionalisation and accompanying research? And how can the interaction of the biological, psychological and social realms of human experience under the influence of mind-expanding substances be located from a systemic perspective?
