New York artist agencies are familiar with the Bavarian town of Neumarkt, thanks to its chamber music hall. The hall's exceptional acoustics prompted local entrepreneur Ernst-Herbert Pfleiderer to establish the Neumarkter Konzertfreunde. For over forty years, they have organized a concert series that is highly sought after by both musicians and audiences. To explore the personal connections between artists and concert friends, OSTKREUZ photographer Frank Schinski was commissioned to capture moments of intimacy: in the artist's dressing room, while traveling, and at home with the musicians. The result is a book that offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at the acclaimed concert series, featuring images that provide each protagonist with their own stage.
