Author: Stephen King

Stephen King, born in 1947 in Portland, Maine, is one of the most successful American writers. To date, his books have sold over 400 million copies worldwide in more than 50 languages. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Special Award from the National Book Foundation for his lifetime achievement in 2003 and the Edgar Allan Poe Award, the most prestigious crime literature award, for Mr. Mercedes in 2015. In 2015, President Barack Obama also honored him with the National Medal of Arts. In 2018, he received the PEN America Literary Service Award for his efforts to stand against all forms of oppression and to defend the high values of humanity. His works are published by Heyne Verlag.

Bernhard Kleinschmidt studied German and American literature in Munich and the USA, earned his doctorate on the turn of the century in Vienna, and lived in Japan for five years. For over thirty years, he has translated fiction and non-fiction from Stephen King to Jack Kornfield. He lives in a small village south of Munich.
