Kein Wunder

Bochum, Berlin, and the last summer before the fall of the Wall. Berlin, 1989. Fränge is in his early 20s and is enjoying life to the fullest. He has two girlfriends: Marta in the West and Rosa in the East – who, of course, know nothing about each other. When Förster and Brocki from Bochum come to visit, things get even more complicated, as Rosa also causes quite a stir with Förster. The three friends from the Ruhr area experience two biotopes in their final months: the subculture of West Berlin and the dissident scene in the East – young people like them who are organizing their own departure. But even back home in the Ruhr area, nothing is as it used to be. Film, music, clubs, and pubs – everything is young and in motion. Frank Goosen's novel is a wonderful comedy about a time when there were more Germanys than needed. And about a self-proclaimed world wanderer of love in divided Berlin – who has good reasons not to be particularly eager for a change in the political situation.
