Katharina

It is the summer of the century, 2003, and a heatwave has Europe in its grip. Silvana Casura, a young woman from Chur, is increasingly losing control over her life as she investigates the Middle Ages. A time when Chur attracted not only wealthy merchants but also all sorts of riffraff and shady characters. In a strange way, Silvana's life becomes intertwined with that of ten-year-old Katharina, the daughter of the executioner in Chur, who falls victim to the Inquisition in 1510. The lines between present and past blur, and what was once believed to be certain no longer holds true; there is no escape for Silvana. She and Katharina share a strong will: they want to survive—and despite all obstacles, find their happiness.
