Karl Julius Schröer

Karl Julius Schröer entered the first half of the last century with unusual expectations. He made demands that were not or no longer feasible by the middle of the century; but it is precisely in this discrepancy between demand and feasibility that the uniqueness of his personality is recognized, as well as the circumstances of the time in which he attempted to make an impact. Rudolf Steiner pointed out the uniqueness of this personality, who in the mid-18th century, in deep connection with classical literature and idealistic philosophy, made an attempt at significant poetic expression, with remarkable clarity.
