Karl Jaspers' Allgemeine Psychopathologie

Karl Jaspers worked at the Psychiatric Clinic of the University of Heidelberg from 1908 to 1915, first as a medical intern immediately after completing his medical studies, and later as a scientific volunteer assistant. Following a request from Karl Wilmanns and the publisher Ferdinand Springer, he wrote "General Psychopathology" in 1913. This guide for students, doctors, and psychologists quickly became a classic and still allows for the organization of the diversity of psychopathological perspectives from a methodological standpoint. "In psychopathology, it should be conceptually clear what one knows, how one knows it, and what one does not know. The critical fundamental idea was to understand the ways in which an investigable objective comes into appearance." (Karl Jaspers) This stands in contrast to one-sidedness and the scientific dogmas of his time and ours.
