Karl Complete Edition

It is almost 30 years ago when a comic from the Rheingau region was about to be called the German Asterix. With a lot of local colour, interesting information about viticulture and a great deal of humour, illustrator Michael Apitz and lyricists Patrick and Eberhard Kunkel told the adventures of Karl, the late vintner, over a total of twelve albums. With countless historical details and many contemporary guest appearances from politics and celebrities, Karl met the spirit of the times and was translated into English, French and even Japanese. In 2004, the last Karl adventure was finished, and from then on, the creators went their separate ways. Karl is now brought back to life again in a four-volume, beautifully decorated complete edition. With many details about the story of its creation, photos and sketches from the authors' archives and an editorial section by Alex Jakubowski.
