Ethnology as speculative metaphysics: Following his fieldwork among the Araweté in northern Brazil, Eduardo Viveiros de Castro designs an "anti-narcissus" as a conceptual war machine, drawing on the ideas of Claude Lévi-Strauss, Gilles Deleuze, and Félix Guattari. In this way, cannibalism, multinaturalism, and perspectivism are mobilized as new images of thinking, representing a different approach that allows for a philosophical redesign of ethnological anthropology, which is still influenced by the legacy of colonialism, as a "theory and practice of the permanent decolonization of thinking.".
