Both the subject area of justice and the approach to the question of one's own identity meet with middle school students at a stage of development that is suitable for forming a solid starting point and basis of interest for such profound and exciting subject areas. The teaching modules try to approach these two topics from different perspectives and to deepen selected aspects in an age-appropriate way. They can be used to create two teaching units for grades 7 and 8 that offer suggestions for dealing with important questions, such as in the area of justice: - "How does one actually distribute fairly?" - "How does one achieve impartiality and is it always desirable?" - "Who is poor and who is rich?" in the area of "justice" In the area of identity, these revolve around questions such as - "Who am I?" - "Who influences me?" - "What is the relationship between self-perception and the perception of others?" - "What role do role models play?" - "Does every person have a conscience?" The modular character makes it possible to set one's own priorities and to compile the teaching sequences individually. Numerous impulses for cooperative learning paths are given, as well as hints on alternative forms of performance measurement.
