The Kamishibai storytelling theater has become an established method in kindergartens and schools for language promotion. Central to this is the direct interaction between the presenter and the children, allowing for immersion in the story. Dialogic elements encourage the oral language use of the young audience and activate them. The themes of the series—combined with Tapir Eberhart, the mascot of the reading start volumes—are chosen to address factual content, excitement, and emotions. The (pre-)reading booklets included in the set can be given to the children or their parents for reading at home. This way, the story presented in kindergarten, class, or after-school care can be taken home. At the same time, the text is available as audio via a QR code, allowing the children to listen to the story themselves. This also encourages initial independent reading.

The Kamishibai storytelling theater activates the children through specific guidelines for the narration on the back of the Kamishibai card and introduces them to independent reading. The audio version is easily accessible on all devices. A Kamishibai wooden frame is not included in the delivery.
