TV journalist Milla Nova gets herself locked up for a week in the women's prison Hindelbank in Emmental for a report. Behind bars, she hears tragic life stories, like that of Flor, who is charged with murder but maintains her innocence, or rumors, like the one about nameless immigrants who led a shadowy life as Sans-Papiers in Switzerland and disappeared without a trace. And she hears about anonymous bodies that the Bern cantonal police recovered from the cold Lake Thun and have still not been able to identify. The deeds of a right-wing extremist? Milla Nova begins to investigate and is confronted with a cruel truth. What does all this have to do with her father, whom she never knew? Suddenly, the daring TV reporter looks into the abysses of her own past - and comes under suspicion herself.
