Author's Note
Ingrid Noll, born in 1935 in Shanghai, studied German philology and art history in Bonn. She is the mother of three now-adult children. After the children left home, she began writing crime stories, all of which became instant bestsellers. 'The Heads of My Loved Ones' was successfully adapted into a film, as were other novels of hers. In September 2000, 'Cold is the Evening Breeze' was released in theaters. In 2005, Ingrid Noll received the Friedrich-Glauser Prize.
