How can I communicate as a giraffe when the world seems full of wolves? Marshall Rosenberg worked with two metaphors in his seminars: the giraffe and the wolf. Both animals represent certain attitudes and ways of communicating. The wolf tends to make judgments, accusations, and creates shame. In contrast, the giraffe is empathetic and speaks a language of the heart. That is why Nonviolent Communication is often referred to as giraffe language. What is special about giraffe language?
