With this book, the authors create a bridge between established EMDR techniques and new developments, aiming to inspire readers to integrate these approaches into their own treatment methods. Since the 1990s, the fields of application for EMDR have expanded significantly. Nowadays, the method is also used to treat phobias, depression, and psychosomatic disorders, as there can be dysfunctionally stored experiences similar to those found in trauma. However, new applications also require changes to the EMDR procedural framework. Therefore, this volume includes not only descriptions of long-tested EMDR techniques but also examples of new approaches.
