This new identification book presents the juvenile stages of all 109 species of grasshoppers occurring in Switzerland.
The nymphal stages are of particular faunistic interest. This field guide helps observers identify juvenile stages in the habitat by species and age. Each species is presented with several color photographs of the developmental stages, and descriptions of essential characteristics supplement the illustrations. Information on seasonal occurrence, habitat and distribution completes the identification guide.
In the species portraits, a picture of an adult conspecific is also shown in each case. The comparison of the age classes makes it possible to recognize the special features of the juvenile stages.
