María Isabel Sánchez Vegara is the author and creator of the inspiring and globally successful series "Little People, BIG DREAMS." She grew up in the 1970s in Barcelona, surrounded by heroines like Pippi Longstocking, Momo, and Tinker Bell, as well as the Spanish poet Gloria Fuertes. One day, Sánchez Vegara also wanted to become a poet, just like them.

It took María Isabel Sánchez Vegara nearly 40 years of her life and almost all her savings to make her dream come true. After working for 20 years in the advertising industry, she published her first book in 2012 as a self-publisher. Two years later, she released a book that was originally intended as a birthday gift for her twin nieces Alba and Claudia, which became the first volume of the now numerous and widely beloved children's book series "Little People, BIG DREAMS."

Initially published by the Spanish publisher Alba under the name "Pequeña y Grande," the volumes of the "Little People, BIG DREAMS" series have now been translated into over twenty languages. Sánchez Vegara loves the idea that the series resonates so well because children enjoy stories about other children who have truly lived and accomplished great things. It gives them strength and the courage to believe in themselves and dream big. As beautifully stated in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung about the series: "You are never too young for big dreams.".
