John Wesley

He may have been small, but his thirst for action was almost inexhaustible. He preached the gospel to many people in the streets and marketplaces of Great Britain and Ireland: John Wesley (1703-1791). The "Great Revival", of which John Wesley and George Whitefield were the main instruments, changed the spiritual, moral and social life in Great Britain and its North American colonies enormously. His dedication, his love for Christ and the lost, his handling of time and money, his restless commitment to the poor and disadvantaged and his willingness to preach the gospel even in life-threatening situations are so exemplary that his weaknesses are gladly covered with the cloak of love.
