Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, China has become the first country with the potential to economically and politically catch up with the Western hegemonic powers and to break their dominance on all levels. This does not make it any friends among the lords of the world, who must fear their dethronement. Therefore, they are trying by all means to maintain their wavering power. This book traces the conflicts that have arisen from China's rise to global power and the reactions of the Western powers to it – from the establishment of new alliance systems in East and Southeast Asia, to the conflicts in the South China Sea, the struggles for influence in Africa and the countries along the New Silk Road, up to the anti-Chinese economic war waged by the USA and the West's attempts to undermine the technological development of the People's Republic.
