Job coaching is a measure primarily funded by the Federal Employment Agency and the job center. The program aims to help unemployed individuals integrate into the primary labor market. Due to the target group, the working methods of a job coach can differ significantly from those of a career coach, as clients do not always come voluntarily. Often, they feel "sent" and may be unmotivated, frustrated, and hopeless. Therefore, job coaching presents unique challenges.

The book by Andrea Schlösser and Karin Kiesele has established itself as a standard work on job coaching in recent years. It has now been revised and particularly supplemented with options for online job coaching. It still offers a structured guide, starting from the design of the assignment, through the specifics and hurdles of this coaching setting, to a variety of tested practical methods.
