The series Jerry Spring, created by Joseph Gillain under his artist name Jijé, represents the archetype of the realistic Western comic of Franco-Belgian origin and can be rightfully described as an absolute classic. Jijé, who is considered one of the most important innovators of the Ninth Art in Europe, skillfully combines elements of Western and detective narratives in his atmospherically rich stories featuring the title character, who always stands up for the cause of the weak and oppressed. Jerry and his friend Pancho manage to thwart a stagecoach robbery. Strangely, the bandits are not after loot but are only interested in the sole passenger on board the coach: a young woman who wants to take over her late uncle's ranch. A dangerous inheritance. In two additional shorter stories, Jerry investigates a mysterious series of murders and uncovers the secret behind the violent death of a Navajo.
