In a globalized world, at the end of national grand narratives, literatures move in aesthetic spaces, often situated between languages and cultures. How do concepts such as transnationality, world literatures, creolization, and diachronic interculturality contribute to our understanding of contemporary literatures? To what extent do postcolonial perspectives open up a future beyond literary nationalisms and cultural hegemonies? The contributors to this multilingual volume examine these questions against the backdrop of transnational and transcultural artistic expressions and reception processes, thereby creating a picture of the aporias, boundaries, and freedoms of transnational literatures.
