Delicious Orient! Ulrike Plessow presents us with the recipes of her cosmopolitan family in this very personal book. Her husband Özgur Tatlici grew up in Berlin and Antakya, a special city in southeastern Turkey with a predominantly Arab population, alongside his parents and sister. His maternal grandparents owned a bakery, while his paternal grandparents were confectioners who sold their pastries on the streets of Antakya. Ulrike Plessow managed to persuade her mother-in-law Kahire to share the 60 best recipes and most beautiful stories of their family with us: In addition to the sinfully delicious desserts that gave the Tatlici family their name (as Tatlici means "the maker of sweets"), there are also numerous meze in the form of wonderful spreads and salads, hearty soups and stews, and meat dishes.
