Islamunterricht im Diskurs

For over a decade, Islamic education has been offered in various forms and models in public schools. This practice has been accompanied by the establishment of Islamic theology at several universities and educational institutions. Both processes have significantly advanced the development dynamics in religious education, leading to the formation of a distinct Islamic educational offering in public schools. Notably, there have been religious didactic works produced in recent years that, for various reasons, have yet to engage with the scientific discourse on didactic theories and models in the Islamic context. This volume addresses that gap. It presents and critically discusses both religious educational and didactic approaches for Islamic religious instruction. The publication primarily aims to shape the profile of religious education and didactics of Islam in the European context and provides impulses for teaching and research. For students and teachers, it offers concrete guidance and suggestions for reflecting on and shaping the practice of Islamic education. A work of high relevance for both science and practice.
