Product details

The book "Ionospheric Tomography" focuses on an innovative area of remote sensing of the ionosphere known as ionospheric tomography. This monograph discusses the application of tomographic methods, which are considered an essential component in the advancement of diagnostic systems. Through advanced remote sensing techniques and modern data processing methods, the reconstruction of the spatial structure of the ionosphere is made possible. The emphasis is on satellite-based radiotomography, while a small section is dedicated to optical ionospheric tomography. Modern radiodepth measurement techniques allow for the investigation of the ionosphere across a wide range of varying positions of transmitter-receiver systems and the application of tomographic methods. The aim of this monograph is to present the developed tomographic methods for restoring the 2D and 3D structure of the ionosphere and to discuss their experimental implementation. The complex structure of the ionosphere, which exhibits both large-scale and local irregularities, is examined in detail.
