The spontaneous uprising against police brutality in and around the Stonewall Inn bar in New York's Greenwich Village marks the beginning of the second homosexual movement, which emerged in several Western countries as a result of the 1968 movement. With a focus on the homosexual movement on both sides of the Atlantic, this Invertito edition contributes to the research discussion by incorporating a (central) European perspective on the beginnings and legacy of "1969" more than ever before.
