Product details
VAP is a disease that commonly occurs in hospitals. The most frequent bacteria causing VAP include Streptococcus pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This study addresses the effectiveness of physiotherapeutic treatment in patients with ventilator-associated pneumonia. It is a descriptive and exploratory literature review with a qualitative approach. A total of 21 publications were found that contained the same descriptors used in the searches for this study. After filtering the inclusion and exclusion criteria, nine original articles were included, which were fully available in databases such as BVS, PeDRO, and Scielo. The application of techniques that are also attributes of physiotherapy is effective in the intervention and prevention process of mechanical ventilation-associated pneumonia, thereby optimizing the weaning process.
